The Broken-Back Salt Box is a barn with a symmetrical main barn section with a shed attached to an eave wall. The main barn has a steeper roof than the attached shed roof has. This gives it the appearance of a broken back. The Broken-Back Salty is a structure with a loft or a second story on the front portion of the building, and a single story toward the rear in the shed portion. The Broken-Back Salt Box can be either a single story barn or a two story barn.
