Classic New England Style

Colonial

The Colonial style barn is beautiful in its simplicity. The Colonial offers a symmetrical roof line providing a uniform height throughout the inside, and the outside of the barn.

The Colonial Series, of timber frame as well as post and beam barns, offers a single story or 1 ½-story building. It can even be made into a full 2-story home or barn as well with a fully usable second floor.

Colonials can be set up with a cathedral ceiling, a simple loft, or a full second floor with a 40 pound per square foot residential load capacity. Access to the second floor varies from a simple ladder, pull-down stairs, or a full set of hearty hemlock built-in stairs.

In Colonial times, a forge housed a hearth and bellows to shape metal. Our Forge Series is quite versatile and very affordable. There are so many uses for the Forge. The Forge is perfect for a workshop, garage, guest cottage, or simple cabin.

Granges, like other manors, were on estates used for food production, centered on a manor house and possibly including other facilities such as a mill. They could farm livestock or produce crops.

Harvest Moon’s Grange stays true to its farming tradition. Granges are perfect homes for farm animals, tractors, with a spacious upstairs to add a wood shop, craft studio, or anything else for that matter.

Colonial | Interior

The traditional mill was a place where businesses could manufacture a product such as grains, cider, and even gunpowder. The term mill came from the fact that the early buildings were powered by a watermill.

Harvest Moon’s Mill is a larger gable style Colonial building. The Mill’s floor plan has a large center aisle with 2 rows of stalls on either side, making it perfect for horse stables. The Mill is often used to store multiple tractors, antique cars, or even a great spot to host a square dance. These beautiful buildings can be set with a partial cathedral ceiling or with no second floor at all. The principal purlin timbers are really something to see.

The Mill can also have decks on both gable ends to sit and relax and view the great outdoors.
